tomato sprouts

these are the first of the vegetables i planted. they're called tiny tim tomatoes, and they're supposed to be indoor plants that don't do well outside, which is perfect for me since i don't have any outdoor space (ah, new york city). it's amazing to think that these tiny sprouts will one day be big, bearing fruit for me to eat. i love watching their progress; at night, they stand straight up, but during the day, they tilt their little faces toward the sun, leaning forward like they're peering out the window. i like to talk to them and tell them they're "doing so well", like how i'd encourage small children. i hear plants like that.
