saturdays surf NYC is a coffee-and-surf shop a block away from my office. it's been written up in vogue and stuff lately, and their tshirts have been selling at j.crew apparently. but the reason my work friends and i like it is because it's not starbucks and they brew la colombe coffee, and la colombe—a coffeeshop near to but more than a block from our office—is our favorite. saturdays is also nice because they have a back patio area where you can sit and hang out in a pleasant atmosphere, and there are always a bunch of surfboards lined up along the fence, which, i think, belong to the owners and their friends.
