the pier at venice beach is beautiful because there are always people doing something: rollerblading, jogging, leisurely walking while eating ice cream, fishing. there are fishermen who are there everyday, and if you look closely enough at the wooden railings, you can see worm guts and fish entrails dried by the sun. the water crashes below you and you can see the entire stretch of beach, all the way to santa monica pier.
