maxwel is my nephew. he was once the most adorable baby i'd ever seen, and i don't just say that because i'm his aunt. i painted him for my sister's birthday, and it was a little momentous as this was the first piece i ever painted for her, as well as the first portrait ever painted of maxwel, obviously. this is the first piece that i ever painted in my old town studio, too. it actually marks the firsts for a lot of things, including being the first painting i did for fun after graduating college, with no guidance or direction.
