when i first moved to new york from LA in april 2007, i moved in with my sister in westchester. in february 2008, i moved to clinton hill, brooklyn. i was always averse to moving to brooklyn; i'd thought that if i ever moved to new york, i'd strictly be a manhattanite, for sure. but, of course, money rules all, and i couldn't afford to live in the city. i'm over it, though; i love the BK.

anyway, when i shot this photo, i was working for a real estate brokerage firm and taking pics of my room for a project i was working on. and i particularly liked the way those charms (from the boardwalk in VA beach circa 1985) looked at that moment.
