la colombe serves the best coffee i've had, probably. it's rich and strong and delicious, and when you order an iced coffee, they put an extra shot of espresso in it so it's not all watery and weak. when we have time, my work friends and i like to sit down to have our beverages (as opposed to taking them back to the office), and we might even get a pastry or two. they have olive oil bread, these brownie-cookie things, croissants and things like that.

on the particular day this picture was taken, we sat down and had pastries in honor of one of us leaving for a year in berlin. we were like, "we have to go sit at la colombe before joanne leaves!" so we stayed there for a long time, longer than we normally would, and just enjoyed each other, since it was the end of a chapter and the beginning of new adventures.
