magazine cut-outs & gel medium on bristol board

this was the first collage i ever did, and the assignment was to create the interior of a room using only magazine cut-outs. i remember thinking that this project was like nothing i'd ever done before (artistically), and it was definitely the first time i'd ever encountered gel medium. so, i spent a lot of time flipping through ikea catalogs and fashion magazines to find all the components of the room i wanted to create. the base of the lamp is actually a nail polish bottle, i believe. also, i realized recently that the house in the window looks just like observatory hill dining hall at UVA...which is funny considering i made this in high school.
