cookie monster
1986
cray-pas & crayon on construction paper
9" x 12"
the day i drew this picture was possibly the first day of my life i thought i could be an artist. i realize this isn't a masterpiece, but, like, i was four. i was watching sesame street and suddenly got the urge to draw cookie monster; i noticed that he had a particularly rectangular head and rather nondescript fingers. you probably think that i'm making up these four-year-old observations as i write this, but it's true...i can remember events and thoughts i had as far back as my second birthday. but i digress—this childish rendering is what began my drawing frenzy and eventually landed me in private art lessons at the age of six.
