chamonix #5

chamonix, france
there were plenty of beautiful buildings in chamonix, as well as hideous automobiles. in every part of the town, you could look up and see the mountains, and it was commonplace to see people carrying skis and snowboards down the streets amidst all the regular pedestrians. i took this picture because i liked the colors and because the buildings seemed to be vying for attention with the mountains. i guess what really strikes me about this scene is that you don't see these kinds of things in america. the buildings are very old and look it, but there's modernity intermingled with the antiquity and i like that you can see nature's magnitude despite the fact that you're in a bustling city.
