clinton hill #6: graffiti

2009
brooklyn, ny

one rainy saturday, i decided that i absolutely needed to own pineapple express or something on dvd, even though i'd never watched it before. i just had a feeling i'd like it. (as it turns out, i don't really like that movie, though i was stoned while watching it, so i honestly don't remember too much about it. whatever.) at the time, i bought a lot of dvds cheaply from blockbuster, which was a 15-minute walk away. since they opened at 11am, i left around 10:45 (this is how badly i thought i needed that movie...in hindsight, i have no idea why), and i neglected to take an umbrella with me, but it was fine.

as i was walking, i kept noticing things i thought were beautiful or interesting, and i took out my camera to photograph them, and this turned out to be my sole accomplishment that day, because blockbuster never opened, even though it was past 11:30 by the time i finally got there. (i could see a girl inside, working, she just refused to unlock the door, it seemed.) anyway, i took a whole lot of pictures; i guess i was inspired that day. the following few pages contain some selections from that strange little adventure.
