chamonix, france was the best skiing of my life. the views were unsurpassable, as were the quality of the snow and the vastness and length of the slopes. le brévent and la flégère were just two of the mountains where you could go to ski—there were numerous other mountains where you could take rigorous 15-mile-long ski tours or take it easy on tamer slopes. i took this photograph while resting briefly on one of le brévent's many invigorating slopes...how could i not? the view was overwhelmingly majestic and it felt like i was standing on top of the world.
